Stress can have a knock-on effect and almost 90% of all illnesses are associated with stress.
Heart diseases, diabetes, anxiety, a weak immune system, insomnia,
constipation, migraines etc. can be symptoms of stress.

Laughter reduces the levels of cortisol, the body's primary stress hormone, and
many other chemicals and hormones that are crucial to good health and relaxation,

e.g. endorphins, serotonin, NK cells etc.
Practised regularly, laughter can significantly reduce stress within minutes,
with benefits long after your Laughter Yoga session.

Laughter boosts the immune response and increases immunoglobulin levels that help fight infection.

Laughter increases the number of antibodies and white blood cells.
A strong immune system is much more
able to help fighting infections and producing antibodies.

Deep breathing exercises increase the supply of fresh oxygen to our cells,
tissues and respiratory passages while stale air is being exhaled.
Many parasites, bacteria and even cancer cells
don't survive well in the presence of oxygen.

Laughter can work as a mild antidepressant as it releases endorphins and serotonin.
These can give us a feeling of well-being, optimism and self-confidence.
It can give you joy by experiencing the moment and being playful --
a great mindfulness exercise, too.

Laughter is a natural pain killer as it releases endorphins, natural opiates that

can be more potent than morphine -- without side effects.

Twenty minutes of belly laughter can reduce pain for up to two hours.
It is not unusual for people who have suffered chronic pain to recover
through regular laughter exercises.

Laughter Yoga is an aerobic exercise, which accelerates the heart rate,
dilates blood vessels, promotes circulation and reduces blood pressure –
a cardiovascular workout with fun.

Ten minutes of laughter equals thirty minutes on a rowing machine.
